8. Alice Boyd : In Search For Life

Joy Nkoyo / Alice Boyd Season 2 Episode 2

Alice Boyd is a musician, sound artist and audio producer whose work explores our interconnectedness with the natural world and unveils the hidden sounds of our environments. She presents a monthly episode of Ffern’s popular podcast ‘As the Season Turns’, has hosted episodes of BBC Countryfile Magazine’s ‘The Plodcast’ and gave a TEDx talk on listening as a tool for change.

In this conversation, Joy and Alice discuss her unusual journey into music after studying Geography at Oxford University, her residency at The Eden Project (the world's largest indoor rainforest) where she transformed plant data into sound via a self-made device, and her perspective on being a self-employed entrepreneur.
